Swim Accomplishments

Sophomore Year: During his sophomore year, Kukurugya made it to the NCAA National Championships, where he placed 8th in the 100 breastroke. Both Kukurugya and Jack Burgeson were on campus during the summer months, conducting research projects. They trained like animals.

Freshman Year: Matthew had a successful freshman year: He won both the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke at the SCAC Conference, breaking the school record in both events.

Prep: As a member of the Crown Point High School team, Matt led the team as captain his senior year. He competed several times in the state meet. Matthew also holds several team records.

Outside the Pool:

When not in the pool, Matt enjoys Science research, jazz guitar, poetry, and cooking.
