Adam Cohen
Biography:
Coach Cohen came to DePauw from the Perkiomen School in 1987 as an assistant football and swimming coach. He was named head swimming coach in the spring of 1989. He has sent athletes to the NCAA National Championships every year but one since 1990. Under Coach Cohen, the swim team has consistently won All-Academic awards from the College Swim Coaches Association. The team has placed top 15 for the past three years in the NCAA and has never finished lower than second in the SCAC while winning 6 consecutive conference titles. In his time as head coach of swimming at DePauw, the team has grown into the nationally-ranked program it is today.
Coach Cohen is a professor of kinesiology at DePauw and is currently the head of a research project on the effects of alcohol consumption on athletic performance, which has been awarded NCAA Choice grants. He has been named SCAC Coach of the Year multiple times and has served as President of the Big Walnut Sports Park in Greencastle. He currently serves as the president of Greencastle City Council and is a staff member for DePauw's Office of Spiritual and Religious Life.
