Swim Accomplishments

Freshman year: J.R. swam best times in the 100 (54.05) and 200 (2.00.44) butterfly, as well as the 500 (4.56.54) freestyle at the SCAC conference championships.

Prep: J.R. comes from the Cincinnati Country Day School, where he lettered 4 years under Marshall Adams. As a junior he was awarded first team Miami Valley Conference in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 100 butterfly. He also qualified for the state championship meet in the 200 free relay and 400 free relay. As a senior, he was first team MVC 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 100 fly. At the district meet he finished 13th in the 100 fly and 200 free as well as 3rd in the 200 free relay and 400 free relay. At the state meet he helped the 200 free relay finish 10th and the 400 free relay finish 12th.

Outside the Pool:

Outside of the pool, J.R. enjoys playing soccer and lacrosse. His senior year he was named all southwest district goalie in soccer. Outside of athletics J.R. has attained the rank of Eagle Scout.

Personal:

Son of Bill and Kim Strubbe. Born September 26, 1992. He has two older sisters: Eve and Hilary. He is considering majoring in geology/geoscience.
